The prominent shoe and accessory business was founded in 1996 by fashionista Tamara Mellon, who during her time as the Accessories Editor at British Vogue realised the potential demand of luxurious ready-to-wear designer heels. Mellon approached Mr Jimmy Choo known in London for his fine craftmanship. The brand quickly became the it-shoe on the red carpet and was in 2008 awarded the ACE Designer Brand of the Year and the British Designer Brand of the Year (British Fashion Council) among others. It is now one of the most prominent luxury shoe brands in the world.
