An eventful day!

All you need is a bit of luck!
Madeleine and I decided to go in to town to study today, and on our way to Starbucks we would pass by Tuileries where Viktor & Rolf had their show today, Collette (packed with fashionistas and wannabe-fashionistas), Marc by Marc Jacobs etc.
While at Starbucks Madeleine met Greg Scaffadi, a photographer working for the Times in New York. He introduced us to his two assistants, one photo student from NYC, Stephanie and an au-pair from Germany, Charlotte.
(outside Jean Paul Gaultier's show)

We got their facebook and email and they said they might be able to get us into one of the shows, and we also got to know the locations of the "invitations" shows...
We said goodbye and Madeleine and I decided to start heading towards the JP Gaultier show in rue Saint-Martin. On our way we went to Marc Jacobs store at the Palais Royal where we also passed by Didier Ludot, a vintage store considered to be the best in Paris, and I'm not in disagreement! There were many other vintage stores as well, selectively brands like Chanel etc and not so favourable prices. However, the shops are like a little museum, I highly recommend a visit!
Approaching the address for the show we see, surprisingly enough, a demonstration. I didn't go close enough to see the signs but I'm guessing that they were protesting against Gaultier's use of fur in his shows... I believe they were yelling "Gaultier - assissin"... Here we interestingly enough met Greg and the girls again and since someone from the Times apparently wrote a bad review, they were refused entry to the show! So we went to a café for some drinks instead. Here we met James, a fashion maniac, who apparently buys the things no one wants from the shows. He has a very interesting and cool style, love it! Italian cosmo was also there...
We ended the evening with meeting up with Vincent and his cousin for some drinks at Banana Café, a very popular and famous bar in the gay community... Loved the decoration, not so much the smell though... I'd go back though, good atmosphere, cheap drinks and cute guys! Too bad they're all gay... Then again, that's not a surprise is it?.....
