Quick recap of the past week:
Monday
Presentation, Jean-Claude and hang-over.
Tuesday
School, nothing really interesing.
Wednesday
Night at Queen!
Me and Helena went home to la maison à Bezons and made dinner, had chocolate fondant for dessert and after that wine and cheese. Yummy! We also did some homework, the emphasis being some.
This is how you study...
Madeleine and Mika showed up after some time, and finally Julia and Therese also found their way to the suburbs. Rather intoxicated we begun our way to Queen, student bar on Wednesdays, and suddenly we realize that we don't know where it is... Brilliant.
Madeleine had a presentation the day after so she stayed back and could therefore help us with the location. Luckily. Once getting past the very arrogant guards we get in and they are playing the worst music. The DJ could not change song properly, he played bad remixes of songs like Tom Jones sexbomb etc. Just awful. And the people there weren't to exciting either. We had a narcissist 30 yr old man probably with an age crisis up on the podium wiggling his hips back and forth to the fabulous music while looking down at us all with eyes that said "Yeah, I know you want me". Oh sweetie... No. Not much later he was joined by a younger guy with more flexible hips, gogo dancing ll over that podium. Rather entertaining I must admit. However, after trying to keep a creepy 40 yr old man away from my swedish mesdemoiselles for about half an hour and the damn idiot would not get the picture we all just felt like going home. Cary and Anna whom we caught up with at the club stayed behind and apparently the music did improve as did the crowd but by then we were all walking, yes walking, home.
Thursday
After spending a very cosy night three girls in Helena's 140 cm bed Mika and I went up at 7.00 to rush home and get ready for school.
Before class I sat down to study for my contrôle de grammaire later that day. I randomly met Charlotte from my class and Jean-Claude also joined us to provide some extra help. I haven't gotten the test back yet but I feel like I did ok. I also had a phonetics test that day so I was a little tired afterwards, but I still met up with Vincent and told him about my confusion with men at the moment. Long story... I don't think I'll be seeing him much more. The language barrier doesn't really make for interesting convos and I really do not understand his french, even the slow articulate one... Impossible! And frankly, there is someone else who is constantly in the back of my mind.
Friday
The quiet night which turned out not so quiet. I was going to go home after school but Björn convinced me to stay and have dinner out with him, Anton and Heidi, Anton's gf. We went to the Latin quarters but behind the Pantheon (metro 7, Place Monge), I haven't been there before so I was very pleasantly surprised to find so many little restaurants and bars and boutiques and they were all cheap (Paris cheap that is)! We had dinner at this little quite cosy restaurant, three courses and wine for about 17 euros per person incl tips. That is cheap especially seeing that the food was good! We decided to stay in the area but go to another bar, we ended up at Chez Felix, cool bar with good lounge music and good service. Frog, Julia and Therese joined us and we had a really good night.
Now I'm going to have a nap.
